It is a verb to describe things that were true in the past but are no longer true in the present.

Affirmative= USED TO
Negative= DIDN'T USE TO
Questions= DID ___ USE TO



ESTRUCTURE

Affirmative: 
Pronoum + used to + verb in base form + complement
Ex: She used to dance ballet everyday.

Negative: 
Pronoum + auxiliar didn't + use to + verb in base form + complement
Ex: He didn't use to ride a bike.

Yes/No questions:
Auxiliar Did + pronoum + use to + verb in base form + complement + question mark (?)
Ex: Did they use to be together all the time?
Yes, They used to. / Yes, They did.



EXAMPLES:

Affirmative sentences:
  • I used to go to the gym.
  • She used to leave with her family and friends.
  • He used to watch more movies and series before.
  • I used to go to the park with my nieces.
  • We used to play volleyball.




Negative sentences:
-I didn't use to eat salchipapa.
-They didn't use to go out for beer at night.
-She didn't use to take a walk his dog.
-I didn't use to drink water.
-He didn't use to go to the stadium to see Junior.




Yes/No Questions:
  • Did You use to play soccer?
Yes, I did. or Yes, I used to. / No, I didn't. or No, I didn't use to.

  • Did She use to drink a lot of coffe?

Yes, She did or Yes, She used to / No, She didn't or No, She didn't use to

  • Did He use to eat a lot?

Yes, He did. or Yes, He used to. / No, He didn't. or No, He didn't use to.

  •  Did They use to go to party?
